Virtual Organizing FAQ

Virtual Organizing provides the most flexible opportunity to get help with reducing clutter and to focus on what really matters. Virtual organizing lets you get started on your organizing goals without requiring someone to come to your home and at the lowest prices.

Q: What type of technology do I need for a VO session?

A: Computer, smart phone, iPad or tablet with a camera and internet.

Q: What if I don’t have a computer?

A: We can use FaceTime or a video chat via your phone.

Q: How does VO work?

A: See “The Process” under Virtual Organizing Tab (Working depends on where we place “The Process.”

Q: What type of organizing PROJECTS can I work on DURING A VO session?

A: Almost anything within your physical limits.

Q: Is it possible to complete a project in one VO session?

A: Completion depends on the size of your project, the length of your session and how well you can make decisions. If a project is not completed by the end of your session, you will be given homework to help you either complete or move forward with your project .

Q: How do I know if I am a good fit for a VO session?

A: We will discuss your project and ask questions to help determine if VO is the right fit for you.

Q: What if I am not a good fit for VO?

A: If you are located in the same area as Elephant Organizing, we can do an on-site, in-person organizing session. If you are not in the same area as Elephant Organizing, we can refer you to a Professional Organizer in your area.

Q: Do I have to send photos and/or videos of the organizing project?

A: Yes, you will be asked to send photos and/or videos.

Q: Can I text the pictures and videos?

A: Yes

 

Q: Do I have to physically do the work myself?

A: Yes, unless you want to bring a friend or family member into the VO session to help you.

Q: How long are the sessions?

A: Usually one hour. On occasion a session can be scheduled for 2 or 3 hours.

Q: Is one HOUR LONG ENOUGH FOR A SESSION?

A: Yes, it is optimal. VO can be mentally and physically taxing because you are making decisions while doing the hands on part of the organizing while we guide you through the process.

Q: How quickly can we get a project done?

A: The speed in which a project is completed is determined by how fast you can make decisions and do the work during the session.

Q: Do you have packages for VO sessions?

A: Not at this time. Only by the hour.

Q: How do I pay?

A: We will send you a payment link for on-line payment.

Q: What type of payments Do you take?

A: PayPal, Venmo, Major Credit Cards.

Q: When does my payment need to be made?

A: At least 24 hours prior to the VO session.

Q: What if I need to cancel the session?

A: Cancellation needs to be made at least 24 hours prior to the VO session.

Q: What if I don’t cancel 24 hours prior to the session?

A: Prior payment made for that session will be assessed for session.

Q: What do the fees include?

A: Initial intake, VO Session, VO Summary Email and Homework list. Also, we will check-in to see how you are doing after the session.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract?

A: Yes, we will send you a contract to sign and return after you decide to go forward with the VO session.

Q: What if I need stuff hauled away?

A: If it is decided that you need to have something hauled away, we will discuss options to make that happen. 

Q: What if there are heavy things that need to be moved?

A: In this case, you might need to have someone there with you to help with the heavy lifting during the VO session. Or, heavy things can be moved after your VO session with the help of someone you know or hire.

Q: Can I take a break during my VO session?

A: Yes, if you need to use the restroom or get something to drink; we can take a quick break.

Q: Can you work with more than one person during a VO session?

A: Yes, as long as we are all working on the same project.
